A little break and an update

Hello friends!

I have decided to take a break from this Sermon Share Blog for the summer.
The creative process is an ever-evolving one, and I am always looking for ways to challenge myself and keep my sermons fresh and relevant.  This summer, I have decided to try out a new way of preaching that won’t have a prepared manuscript.  To be honest, this is a big step outside of my comfort zone, as I like having all my thoughts in one place.  But I think it will go a long way to better connecting with the people I serve, and gives me the opportunity to practice embodying the thing I believe about God’s Word – that it is organic and contextual and relational.
Good news for the parish; perhaps not so good news for an online presence.
I have enjoyed sharing my sermons with you and hearing from you when something has inspired or challenged.  Your feedback has helped me hone this craft, and I am grateful for it.  Thank you so much for taking this journey with me and continuing to show interest in my call.
My hope is to begin recording the sermons at some point in the future, but I’m not there yet.  And, depending on how the summer goes, I may return back to manuscript sermons.  Either way, I will reach out to you once more, when I have figured out how to share these sermons with you.
May your summer be blessed with incredible beauty, love, peace,
and moments of God’s in-breaking.
May you know that you are beloved and precious in God’s eyes.
May you find comfort and strength when you need it most.
God be with you ’til we meet again.
